Brian Karyl Butler was born on February 17, 1973 in Boise, ID to Claudia and Kent Butler.
He passed away of natural causes unexpectedly at home in Helena, MT on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the age of 50. He was cremated shortly thereafter.
Brian played football and graduated from Boise High School in the class of 1991. He furthered his education by completing a Bachelor’s in Communications from Boise State University in 1998.
His legacy includes his work for the Federal Forest Service for almost 30 years in various capacities including firefighting and most recently as an assistant helicopter program manager for Central Montana Helitack. Work also brought him to Antarctica where he helped transport supplies.
Being outside was a lifelong love of Brian’s. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, hiking, landscaping, and traveling. He was creative and enjoyed making things with his hands.
Brian is survived by his father, Kent Butler (Noraye Sinclaire); his mother, Claudia Haight; siblings, Cyle Butler, Darren (Tera) Butler, Shelly Butler, Janelle (Jed) Simmons; eight nieces and nephews; and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Douglas Capell Haight.
A celebration of life in Boise is yet to be determined.
