Isabelle A. Mavis 92, of Clancy, MT. passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena on Monday July 1, 2024.
Isabelle was born in Fargo North Dakota, on March 14, 1932. She was the first of seven children born to Clifford and Elfrieda (Ludemann) Senn.
Isabelle was a resident of Pelican Rapids, MN, graduating from Pelican Rapids High School in 1950. She married Willis F. Mavis on Oct 1, 1950.
In 1952 Willis joined the Air Force and Isabelle followed him to Massachusetts, Mississippi, and Bermuda. In 1956 Willis left the Air Force and joined the Federal Aviation Administration. His career brought them to Montana where they lived in both Great Falls and Billings before coming to Helena in 1974.
Isabelle was a member of Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church for 50 years where she was active in both quilting and bible study groups. She loved to knit, sew and bake.
Isabelle was preceded in death by her husband Willis F. Mavis, Her parents and five siblings, Patricia, Rosetta, Loretta, Clifford Jr., and Joann. Surviving is her son, John (Susan) of Highlands Ranch, CO; grandchildren Brianne (Tyler) Schoen of Clancy, MT, Mackenzie of Littleton, CO and Tanner of Ft. Collins, CO. her brother Paul (Kates) Senn of Great Falls, MT and numerous nieces and nephews.

I sorry to hear of Mrs. Mavis’s passing. When I was in nursing school at Carroll, Mrs. Mavis was our rock and coordinator. She was a great person. May she rest in peace.
