Donna Blend Kropp, 1937–2025
Helena resident and longtime educator Donna Blend Kropp was called to be with the Lord on May 15, 2025, at Edgewood Assisted Living in Helena. Donna’s life was marked by a deep love for her family, her faith, and the many children she touched through her teaching.
She is survived by her sons Steven Kropp of Ogden, UT, and Jim Kropp of Helena; daughters-in-law Susan Kropp and Gina Kropp; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Grace Blend, her sisters Norma Johnson and Betty Fox, and her beloved husband, Clarence Kropp, who passed away in 2003.
Born in Great Falls in 1937, Donna married Clarence in 1956, and together they raised their sons in Great Falls. After earning her degree from the College of Great Falls, Donna spent many rewarding years teaching at Longfellow and Lewis and Clark Elementary schools. She was a dedicated educator who made a lasting impact on her students and colleagues.
Upon retirement, Donna and Clarence built a cabin near Gibson Reservoir, where they enjoyed winters in Arizona and Texas and summers exploring Alaska with their RV friends. After Clarence’s passing, Donna moved to Helena, spending winters with her sister Betty and friends in Yuma, AZ.
A family graveside service will be held in Augusta on June 21. Memorials may be made to Hannaford Street Bible Church in Helena, a place that held great meaning in Donna’s life.
