On September 11, 2024, Aleda Robinson died at home from a heart attack. She was 75 years old.
Aleda was born on May 11, 1949, in Conrad, Montana to Willard “Bill” and Beverly “Bev” Robinson (both deceased). She attended school in Conrad, Montana and graduated from Conrad High School in 1968. During her summers in high school she worked at the Tastee Freeze. Following her high school graduation, she attended her freshman year of college at Eastern Montana University in Billings, Montana, returning to Conrad after her first year. It was during that summer home that she met and married Ray Bouma. They welcomed their first daughter, Whitney, on January 29, 1970, followed by their second daughter, Kelly on August 29, 1972. They made their home on a farm west of Conrad until their divorce in 1978.
In the years that followed, Aleda remarried and moved to Helena, Montana. In 1988, after her then husband died and her oldest daughter had moved to San Diego, she relocated to a 5-acre hobby farm outside of Helena where she and her daughter Kelly enjoyed the many dogs, cats, and horses they owned as pets. She also enjoyed the occasional trip to San Diego to spend time with her daughter Whitney (who had moved to California to go to college) and escape for a few days from the cold of Montana winters. In 1992, she remarried and enjoyed spending time golfing and exploring nature with her husband until 200X when she and her husband divorced. Shortly after, she sold her hobby farm home and moved to a smaller property in the west valley of Helena. She continued to enjoy the company of her pet dogs and cats but gave up the horses. She remained in that home until her death.
During her time in Helena, she developed many good friends, some of which she met while working at West Mont Home Health (where she worked for 16 years) and then Associated Dermatology (where she worked for 15 years) in various payroll, bookkeeping, and accounting positions. She retired from work in 2014 and enjoyed spending time with her family. She particularly loved being “Nana” to her grandkids and attended their various sporting and school events when possible.
Aleda was proceeded in death by her parents Bill and Bev and various aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her children Whitney (Rob) Casey of Columbia Falls, MT, Kelly (Dave) Morrison of Missoula, MT; grandchildren Mackenzie Morrison of Missoula, MT; Whitney Morrison of Missoula, MT; Quincy Morrison of Missoula, MT; Bo Morrison of Missoula, MT; brother William “Bill” Robinson of Helena, MT; and nieces Meredith Tinseth of Denver, CO; and Amy Bayer of Missoula, MT. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Lacey, who now resides with her daughter, Kelly’s, family in Missoula, MT.
A celebration of life picnic will be held on Saturday, June 14th, at 12:00 noon at Memorial Park (Picnic Shelter #2) in Helena, MT. Friends and family are welcome to attend to enjoy a meal with the family and share their memories of Aleda.
