In Memory Of

Kenneth “Joe” Damon, age 71, of Cascade, MT

Kenneth Joseph Damon:  Born 04-19-1954 – Died 11-21-2025

Joe grew up in Craig MT until 1964 when the family moved to Augusta. Joe wasn’t happy he wanted to go back to Craig so he stole our Dad’s Jeep and was heading back to Craig only he was going the wrong way and the Jeep died on him.  Some high school boys stopped to see what he was doing and took him home.  They moved to Cascade in 1968 or 69 and again he wasn’t happy until he found out his friend (Kevin Dempsey) from Wolf Creek was going to school in Cascade.  There are many humorous stories which will be remembered and shared in his memory.

Joe joined the army in 1974 and was stationed in Germany for 3 years. He also lived back East for a few years working on a ranch, then driving truck but the call to return home brought him back to Montana.  Joe worked numerous jobs, the job he liked the best was working with veterans.

Joe was born in Great Falls, MT to William (Buster) and Florence Damon.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bernice Suket and 2 brothers, William Leo Damon and Albert Damon.  He is survived by daughter Brenna Denning, brothers Floyd, Tom, Earle, and sisters Mona Peterson, Shirley Bird and Dorothy White and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He will be missed by his family and friends, but most of all by his niece Becky Ramsey Farris.

Joe loved to write song lyrics and poetry; he sold one of his songs and had several poems published; he also taught himself to play the guitar.  He loved the outdoors and going camping, he loved basketball and attended numerous games in Helena and would travel to watch his great niece Selena play basketball in Cascade.  Joe had a great love for old country music and his favorite singer was Willie Nelson who he got the chance to see in concert.  Along with everything old and western he enjoyed watching old western movies and shows.  He loved his pets along with all animals and fed birds, stray cats and provided treats for the neighborhood dogs.

Romans 8:38-39  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities(demons or evil), neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Please join the family at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 120 W Riggs, East Helena, on Wednesday, December 3 for a Noon Mass, followed by a reception downstairs in their Fellowship Hall. Following the reception, Joe will be laid to rest at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery, 3550 Heroes Rd, with military honors provided by the Army and Lewis & Clark Veterans Council.
