William “BC” Caffyn was an all-around man. He did everything, and then some.
“BC” was born on October 9, 1955 and raised in Great Falls Montana to the parents of Thomas and Sharon Caffyn and younger brother Jesse Caffyn.
He was a boxer and hockey player, he did 4H and many other activities as a young man.
He did many things for work throughout his life, from mechanic to construction, operator to foreman, superintendent to fleet manager, Sailor and Seabee, and his favorite Santa Claus.
He married Maggie Caffyn in August of 1983. They shared many years together and making memories, from hockey trips to Canada, hunting and fishing trips all over the state and country, to later years where they did the same together in Hawaii and Mexico.
He was also a great father to his boys, Maxx Caffyn and Gus Caffyn. He did everything for and with his sons. He was a teacher and mentor to them in all the activities they did.
He was always involved with many organizations, from snowmobile clubs, BMX racing, Boy Scouts, Sun River Rangers, and the NWTF, and when we say involved, we mean with both feet up to his chin.
“BC” lived a long and prosperous life. The last couple of years were the hardest for him after fighting a brutal fight with cancer and related issues. He passed away on his own terms, surrounded by family, friends and his golden retriever Lingshire, on Jan 23, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his Dad Thomas Caffyn, Mom Sharon Party, Stepdad Ralph Party, Nephew Colton Caffyn and Niece Caitlyn Caffyn.
He is survived by wife Maggie Caffyn, Brother Jesse Caffyn, God son TJ Goodau, Sons Maxx and Gus Caffyn, grandsons Bennett Hix, Peter Caffyn and Otto Caffyn, and granddaughter Nora Caffyn.
He was a hard man, a kind man, a gentle soul and an all-around good person. He touched the lives of so many people. He will be missed by all of those who knew him.
A celebration of life for BC will be held at the end of spring and will be announced once a date has been set.
