Robert Larsen died February 21, 2012 in Helena. Robert was born on July 4, 1918 at the family homestead outside of Kenmare, North Dakota to Hans C. and Petra Christine (Simonsen) Larsen. He married Gladys Jensen on October 5, 1941. Robert and Gladys began married life on their own farm which was also outside of Kenmare. Daughters Barbara (1942) and Janice (1944) were born in Kenmare. The family moved to Sidney, Montana in 1953 where Robert was employed in farm machinery sales. In 1960 they moved to Billings where Robert continued his career in farm machinery sales and the family became active in American Lutheran Church. After about ten years as a sales representative for a farm machinery manufacturer, Robert became a real estate salesman until his retirement. During the summer of 2011 Robert moved to Helena to be near his daughter, Janice
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; his daughter, Barbara; his parents; two brothers, Howard and Carl; and a grandson, Robert Duane Ness. Survivors include his daughter, Janice Ness (James); his brother-in-law, Duane Jensen; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at American Lutheran Church in Billings on March 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Memorials may be sent to American Lutheran Church or the charity of choice.
