Josephine “Jo” May Champa, 96 of Helena passed away September 1, 2014. She was born to Joseph and Amy Maness in Billings, Montana on November 16, 1917._x000D_
Jo married Ludwig “Ludy” S. Champa on June 28, 1936. They loved to square dance and did so for 42 years. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1998. _x000D_
She worked for the Federal Reserve Bank, the telephone company and was a school secretary. Jo had belonged to the Helena Homemaker Club since 1942 and volunteered for the Red Cross blood donations for many years. She is a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church._x000D_
Jo was preceded in death by her husband, son Bruce in 2001, her brothers and one sister._x000D_
She is survived by grandchildren, Steve, David, Connie and Michael; great grandchildren Collin and Brison; daughter-in-law Emma; and sister-in-law Iris Maness. She is also survived by her niece Cindy Evanson and two nephews Daniel Maness and Richard Kainu._x000D_
