James Corder, 81, of Helena passed away on October 8, 2018 at Rocky Mountain Health Care. Jim was born on March 26, 1937 in Glasgow, Montana and raised in Sidney, MT. He graduated from Sidney High School in 1955 and went to MSU for three years.
He and Beverly Broadbent were married on March 16, 1958. They lived in Bozeman until 1962 and moved to Helena, where they lived in the same home for 53 years.
Jim worked for Mountain Bell and Qwest and retired after 30 years, in 1994. He also was a member of the Montana Army National Guard for 38 years.
Jim was an avid Harley rider and took many memorable trips on his bike. He also loved to buy old cars and restore them. He could build or fix anything and was always working on the family home or the yard.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lillian and John Corder, his sister Carol Ewalt and his daughter Kelly Wagner. He is survived by his wife Beverly, and son Kirby both of Helena, son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Sheryl Corder, Livingston, son-in-law Mark Wagner, grandsons Brock and Brady Livermore, great grandson Bridger Livermore all of Harrison, ID; granddaughter MacKenzie Corder, Missoula and two brothers-in-law and their wives Clark and Toni Broadbent of Ashland, OR and Tully and Debbie Broadbent of Kalispell, MT. Jim is also survived by several nieces and nephews and very special great grandniece Ophelia Broadbent of Ashland, OR.
Cremation has taken place and at Jim’s request there will be no services held at this time. A memorial may take place at a later date.
The family wants to thank all the doctors and staff at St. Peter’s Health Care, the nurses and staff at Rocky Mountain Health Care and St. Peter’s Hospice. Everyone was so caring and kind to Jim. Memorials can be sent to the American Heart Association or St. Peter’s Hospice.
