George and I worked together for years, were partners most of that time, and dabbled with other techie stuff after that. He was one of a kind, and will be missed.

I am deeply saddened to learn just now of George’s death, having not heard from him in a while (he was always the better correspondent), emailing him twice recently, and then finally and fearfully entering his name and ‘obituary’ on a search. George and I have been friends since our days at the University of California, Berkeley (1970s). He was and will always remain for me a vibrant, energetic, visionary, bold, and super-intelligent presence in the world, and a loving one. He loved many and he loved well, holding a special place in his heart for Joanne and Allison and for Lucky and Blue. My condolences to his family and his many friends who treasured him, as I did.
