Twyla Bush was a relentlessly kind and caring mother, grandmother, and friend. She left this world on Friday April 2nd, 2021 at St. Peters Hospital in Helena, Montana.
Twyla was born to Edna Carlson and Demond (Jack) Miller on September 25th, 1954 in Helena Montana. She graduated from Helena High school in 1972. She spent 31 years as a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, where she experienced great joy in building long term relationships with the people and pets on her routes. Rarely without milk bones, the dogs on her mail route cherished her greatly.
When asked about Twyla, her son, Tim, mentioned that she was the most empathetic person in the world. The word stray wasnt found in her vocabulary; Twyla ensured that all animals and people had a safe, loving place to land. She was insistent on making everyone feel like they were truly seen, known, and valued.
One of Twylas greatest sources of joy was her family. She so loved her two sons, Tim and Travis, and poured her love into their children, as well. She especially looked forward to her weekly visits with her grandson, Talon.
Twyla is survived by her partner Harold Green, sons Timothy (Leslie) McEwen and Travis (Melissa) McEwen, sister Carla Smith (Tom Smith), nephew Tom (Katie) Smith, and nieces Shannon (Shaun) Gardner and Kelly (Chris) Hueth. She was loved and adored by four grandchildren: Mallory, Talon, Ash, and Logan. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Marty Miller.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Lewis and Clark Humane Society in honor of Twyla.
