Early on the morning of April 13, 2021 Vickii Susan Otto passed away peacefully, comforted by her daughter and her family close by. She was 72. She was born on June 7, 1948 to Daniel and Cora (Ferguson) Chisholm in Kellogg, Idaho.
She married Donald Lee Marang on August 5, 1965 and soon after were blessed with a baby girl, Kim. A couple of years later they divorced, but always stayed close until Don’s death in 1978.
Vickii was bartending when she met Gary Otto. They married September 12, 1982 and moved to Montana soon after. Vickii continued bartending until she went to work at K-mart, where she met special friends Trudy and Connie.
Vickii and Gary were blessed with 3 grandsons, Jeff, Chris and Cody who became the center of their universe. They did everything they could for and with all three of them.
After leaving K-mart because of the drive, Vickii went to work at the Wolf Creek School as the janitor. She loved seeing the kids and the kids loved her. It also meant she got to see her grand kids more. She also made some very special friends while working there. Vickii enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family.
After losing Gary in 2018, Vickii just lost her will to live and had several medical issues that she just could not recover from.
Vickii was preceded in death by her parents Daniel Chisholm and Cora Schwemmer, Aunt Lylla Salsman, brother JD Chisholm, sisters Janet Janke and husband Gary Otto.
Vickii is survived by her sisters Mary (John Schuldt) Chisholm and Cathy (Chuck Carol) Costello; brother-in-law Bob Janke; daughters Kim (Jim) Ryan; grandson’s Jeff (Kailey) Ryan, Chris Ryan and Cody Ryan.
We were able to move mom in with us and care for her. I have to thank my husband for all his support, couldn’t have done it without him. Also, a huge thank you to Frontier Home Health and Hospice. These people are the best (angels in disguise).
Vickii was cremated and we will have a celebration of her life at a later date.

Our condolences and love to all the family and friends. Vickii was a dear friend whom I loved and respected. We shared a lot of laughter and conversation at the end of each working day at school. She always brought in bags of books to share, but more than that…she shared herself and I looked forward to those shared times…stories, thoughts and feelings and all those things that friends share. The kids looked forward to seeing her on their way out the door…a cheerful smile and greeting for each and every one of them. She will be missed by so many. There was only one Vickii in the world:purple_heart:
