Alton Anderson, age 90 of Helena

Alton D. Anderson Jr., age 90, of Helena, MT passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023.

Alton was born on October 13, 1933 in Lemmon, SD to parents Alton D. Anderson Sr. and Emma Thompson. The family later moved to Billings, MT where he resided until 2021.  In 1950, Alton joined the United States Air Force where he completed his A&P license. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Alton became an Aircraft Mechanic working for Lynch Flying Service in Billings as well as Edwards Air located in Billings.

As a man of faith, Alton attended Emmanuel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. On July 6, 1969, Alton married who would become the love of his life, Sharon Boroughs. Alton was a loving husband, father, and dear friend to many. Throughout his life, he always enjoyed boating, working on his GTO, and watching sports, especially when it came to NASCAR.

Alton was preceded in passing by his parents, Alton and Emma Anderson; brothers, Andy Anderson, Curtis Anderson; and sister, Mary Louise Hultgren.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Anderson; son, Erik Anderson; stepsons, Steven (Teresa) Pappas, Larry Pappas; sister, Ethyl (Edie) Sawtelle; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Anderson, Coley Anderson, Savanah (Wyatt) Mestdagh, Logan Pappas, Tyler (Jenny) Pappas, Joshua Pappas, and Alexander Pappas; great-grandchildren, Mason Sizemore, Alton Pappas, Emma Sizemore, Finnly Pappas, Haylie Sizemore, Melvin Pappas, Henry Pappas, Ellie Pappas.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Edgewood Senior Living Chapel, 3207 Colonial Dr, Helena, on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
