“If I died today, I would die the happiest man on earth.â€
Archie Lake died too soon on Aug. 22, 2012, from a heart attack. Archie’s philosophy of life was one from which we could all benefit. His glass was never half empty or half full, it was always full. Archie loved life and loved people and he had an extremely contagious laugh. He loved playing “golf†with his old friend John and loved meeting every Wednesday with the “golf†group. Archie loved the Thanksgivings spent with our great friends John, Toby and Kally and Connie. Arch also loved our large family gatherings, especially the cribbage games with Brett and John.
Archie was born in Rolette, N.D., on July 19, 1949, to Archie and Doris Lake and grew up in Big Timber. Archie married his soulmate, Lynnette, on July 7, 1979. Together they raised two beautiful daughters and have three wonderful granddaughters.
Archie was preceded in death by his father, mother and stepfather, Vic Dewald, and his only brother, Gil Lake.
Archie is survived by his wife, Lynnette; daughters, Jenn (Casey) and Sarah (Ron); and granddaughters, Mikayla, Jazzylynn and Isabella Britton. He is also survived by several sisters-in-law, brothers-no-good-in-law and many nieces and nephews, including his brother’s son, Bill Lake.
A celebration of Archie’s life will be Saturday, Sept. 1, at Basin Creek Campground at 2:30 p.m.

Archie and I were like Brothers all thru grade school. High school we started to find new friends. We hung out a little when Archie worked in Billings. When He moved from Billings I seen him Once after. Well maybe twice. When Gilmore passed om we spoke at Lowery’s funeral home. I missed Archies graduation into the Eternal relm and so I’ll just have to wait for a while. Larry Clouse Larclo@msn.com
