Blake Edward Hathaway, 50, passed away Feb. 18 in Helena.
He was born Sept. 28, 1962, in Caldwell, Idaho, to Lee and Jenny Huntsman Hathaway. He was raised in the Northwest and attended schools in Oregon.
Blake liked fast sports: skiing, dirt bike racing, stock cars and most of all Nascar. He was a “hell-raiser,†keeping his family on their toes (and law enforcement, too).
In 1979, Blake lived briefly in Missoula then moved to Seattle with his brother, Brian. He returned to Montana and followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming a mechanic in Hamilton. He enjoyed having a good time with friends and was on pool and dart teams. In 1998, Blake married Tammy Jacox in Helena. The greatest joys of his life were his daughters, Brianna, 13, and Brooke, 10.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Ben and Maude Hathaway, and Ralph and Janet Huntsman; his mother, Jenny; and several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include daughters, Brianna Lynn and Brooke Lee, of Helena; father, Lee (Thea), of Hamilton; brother, Brian (Sherry), of Washington; sister, Janet, of Washington; stepsister, Denise (Steve) Bata, of Connecticut; and many neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cremation is being taken care of by Twichel Funeral & Cremation Services. At Blake’s request, there will be no services. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetary in Hamilton at a later date.
