At sunrise on the morning of July 13, 2017 our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Sister-in-law, Carolyn Stocker ended her journey with us here and went to dance with her husband Garry in heaven.
Carolyn was born to Roy and Bessie Harrison in Central City KY on Valentine’s Day 1938. Carolyn had a sweet heart all her life and loved her family and friends deeply.
Carolyn grew up in Kentucky and graduated high school in 1956. She met the love of her life, serviceman Garry Ward Stocker and they later married on August 17,1957. Carolyn and Garry had three children, 2 boys and 1 girl. After the birth of their first son the family moved to Twin Falls Idaho where the other two children were born. Shortly after Garry’s death in 1969 Carolyn moved to Helena MT where she raised her children.
Carolyn loved to read, attend her grandchildren’s ball games and events, loved to watch basketball on tv and cheer for the La Lakers and University of Kentucky. She made beautiful sequined calendars for family and friends each year that we always looked forward to receiving.
In August 1980 Carolyn became a grandmother for the first time and took on the roll with much love and enjoyment for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren through the years. Carolyn had an especially close relationship with her youngest grandson Christopher Stocker. Carolyn was a calming soul to Christopher as he discovered his different abilities while growing with autism. They spent their time reading, singing, playing, and just loving their time together. Their relationship was a true testament to love.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Mother and Father In-Law and Brother.
Carolyn is survived by her Son Garry Wayne Stocker (Joan) of Helena MT, Son Timothy Ray Stocker of Choteau MT, Kimberlee Ann Stocker Tangen (Doug) of Fairfield MT. She is also survived by her Brothers and Sisters In-Laws, Dick and Janean Stocker of Twin Falls ID and Richard and Beth Heitz of Lacey WA. Carolyn was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, niece and nephews, and friends.
Carolyn requested no services and the family is honoring this wish.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St Peters Dialysis unit and Dr. Gwen Pincomb for their years of love and concern for Carolyn through the years. We would also like to thank Dr. Pincomb for the concern for our family in Carolyn’s last days. Thank you also to St Peters Hospice.

Carolyn Stocker was my husband’s grandmother and treated me like her own grandaughter. I received unconditional love and support from her for the past 12 years. I truly can understand the love of a grandma after having Carolyn in my life. She had filled that void for me since my elders have all passed. She loved our son so much and I smile thinking about them together. Your smile and laughter are missed grandma. Love you.

Carolyn came into my life when I was 6 years old. She was married to my brother Garry and was not only my sister-in-law, but my friend and confidante as I was growing up. She taught me many things, but her biggest gift was the ability to take what life gives you and not complain. She loved my brother all of her life and I know that she is now with him and happy and without pain. She was a dear woman and will be missed by all of us who knew and loved her.

Carolyn is my Mother-in-Law and was a wonderful one. If it were not for this beautiful lady I am sure my family wouldn’t have been as happy as we are. Carolyn so seldom judged anyone, she just accepted you for you. Mom I am and always will be grateful for you and all you always did for all. I love you
