Carrol Edna (Rasmussen) Reddick, 73, was born in Opheim on Jan. 24, 1940, to Lars and Florence Rasmussen and was the youngest of six kids. She left life with us in Helena on Dec. 27, 2013, and joined her heavenly Father Jesus Christ.
Carrol married her childhood sweetheart, Roy Reddick. They lived in Glasgow, where she worked for many years in the auto body shop they owned as well as several other jobs. They lived in other areas of Montana, including Great Falls and Malta, and settled in Helena. When not working, they spent their time in the outdoors.
Carrol’s passion involved volunteering her time to the recovery ministries at her church and other organizations. Her contributions included countless hours of working in many capacities for the church, always lending a hand and helping whoever was in need. Carrol spent numerous Saturday mornings making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the faith kids.
Carrol loved dancing and music (especially Elvis singing the gospel). She was great at gardening and canning and the master of pie making. Carrol enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were HUGE loves in her life.
Carrol was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Reddick; both of her parents; three brothers, Cliff, Ken and Loal Rasmussen; and her grandson Kyle Sims.
Carrol is survived by her five children, son Barry Reddick and wife Patricia of Helena, four daughters, Jackie (Reddick) Cool and husband Wes of Glendive, Shirley Reddick of Helena, Rhonda (Reddick) Hedalen and husband Bobby of Helena and Mellissa (Reddick) Schaeffer and Steve Schaeffer of Helena; her 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister, Lois Hardin of Shelby; brother Ray Rasmussen of Oregon; several in-laws; her many nieces and nephews; and the friends in her church family.
Carrol planted many seeds in most everyone she encountered, always hoping for them to choose the right path. At our family Christmas gathering, she whispered, softly shaking her head yes with a smile on her face, “I made all of this.”
Mom, Grandma, sister, friend, aunt. You are forever in our hearts and will be greatly missed. We are proud of the family you helped us make. We love you.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carrol’s name to East Valley Foursquare Church Recovery Ministries, P.O. Box 785, East Helena, MT 59635.

Carroll was such a kind, gently, loving lady. I know I can speak for the group of lady friends that got together a couple times (sometimes more) a year for pot lucks, we will miss her laughter, wonderful smile, hugs, and mostly her company. She will greatly be missed and I pray that the family and friends find peace in knowing that she is resting in the arms of Jesus.
