Her last wish was simple, for her obituary to be six lines … however, six lines simply isn’t enough.
Cheri Holzer was born Oct. 1, 1946, in central Montana. It was here that her appreciation for the simple things began. Cheri married Jim Tompkins on April 17, 1965, celebrating 50 years this past April. In 1967 Cheri and Jim moved to Billings and so began her life in fashion. Their only child, Kym, was born in July 1970.
In 1985 Cheri and her family moved to Helena. Continuing her passion, she opened Cobblestone Clothing Co. in 1987 with her mother, Harriet Rogers. Thus, the beginning of three generations of strong women making Montana a better dressed place. To know Cheri was to see the simple pleasure of beauty in life. Sharing that beauty with her gift of providing so many women in Montana something just a cut above everything else available.
The simple pleasure of a lovely new garment or accessory, feeling good about how one looks in a classic piece of clothing; the genuine advice; her welcoming smile; the calming fragrance of the store.
She died peacefully at home surrounded by family, on June 14, 2015, after a brave fight with pancreatic cancer. Cheri was preceded in death by her mother, Harriet Rogers, and father Donald Holzer. Cheri is survived by her husband, Jim, daughter Kym and granddaughters Stella and Grace that she loved and lived to be with.
Cheri led a remarkable life and many will miss her strength, elegance and caring nature.
Please find beauty in something simple today to remember this amazing woman, wife, mother, friend and “Nona.”
Memorials are suggested to St. Peter’s Cancer Treatment Center, 2475 Broadway, Helena, MT 59601.

Lanny and I send our love and support to you and your beautiful girls and to your dad, Kym, knowing full well that today hearts are broken, plain and simple. Your mom was genuine and had a sparkle in her eyes and smile that no one of right mind dare refuse. She is missed already. Much love, Bergetta

I have known Cheri for 26 years, we have shared dinners, drinks, great conversations and of course lot of laughter, and always the garage sales where most of the time we shared a glass of wine as I gathered my treasured findings. I loved her as a cherished friend whom I will miss greatly. My love and prayers are with Jim and Kym her grandkids and the many friends as we learn to deal with the loss.
Continued love and prayers
