Chuckie Thompson Cramer
November 7, 1941-April 18, 2021
Our mother was a legend, not because of where she lived or her numerous accomplishments, she was in a league of her own because of her character.
Our mother was an extraordinary woman, the most courageous, fiercely loyal, and strongest person we have ever known. She taught us the value of hard work and the importance of keeping your word. She taught us to be encouraging, kind and compassionate. She lived in a place of gratitude and generosity. Our wise mother was not only our teacher but the consummate student. She had a thirst for knowledge and a voracious appetite for reading. She passed down her curiosity, creativity, and capacity for learning to us. She was ever hopeful and optimistic, always offering a kind word at just the right time. She was a faithful, devoted wife and a dedicated, loving mother. She loved the Lord and was passionate about her faith, she walked in it every day. She was available 24/7 for anyone who needed a light in the darkness and a soft place to land. She was a mom to those who needed one.
Sure, she taught us all the usual things moms teach their kids. We learned to cook and clean, fish and hunt, garden and how to use power tools. Out of nothing she crafted an idyllic childhood for her three kids.
Our mom inspired us to adventure…and we did, all over the world. She would look at every photo and listen to every dirty detail. She happily received our calls in the middle of the night, across dozens of time zones. In her later years she had her own grand adventures in Costa Rica. She was an extraordinarily passionate missionary and even learned to do sutures to help the medical teams. As a result, she “adopted” a couple Tico sons and daughters-in-laws, growing our family along the way.
She leaves behind her loving husband, three adoring children, seven loved grandchildren, a beloved brother (and sister-in-law), much-loved brother-in-law, numerous extended family and an abundance of dear friends.
Our words fall short of the remarkable woman Chuckie Thompson Cramer was and her character is our legacy. We hope we make you proud mom.
One thing is for certain…She is adored and sorely missed. She was incredibly blessed and blessed all those that knew her. As hard as it is to imagine life without her, we look forward to joining her one day in Paradise.

In my almost 10 years of attending family camp in Hungry Horse, Montana and leading worship with my family there, Chuckie was an institution. She made sure camp ran smooth, and somehow always managed to make the most mundane housekeeping details hilariously fun!

RIP dear Chuckie…missing you, your smile and sense of humor, your concern for others, common sense, and underlying it all your steadfast faith. Memories are a lasting blessing.

I met Chuckie through my work at Rocky Mountain Development Council. I helped her each year with her prescription insurance and I always thought she was a dear person. I remember one year she handed me a Starbucks gift card as she was leaving my office as a token of her gratitude. I was so sorry to hear that she has left us but I realize after reading the lovely tribute her family has written what a legacy she leaves behind. May peace surround you now and as time passes and may your memories sustain you.
