E. Daphne Lockridge Haab was born on March 9, 1916 at the foot of old Baldy by a midwife in Townsend, Montana. She attended Townsend’s schools where she graduated in 1934. She spent summers as a youth working on a ranch where there were horses. Riding horses continued to be one of her favorite pastimes.
In 1935 she married William Haab of Clancy. Bill and his brother operated the Clancy Store for 31 years. Daphne worked in the Clancy Store for several years. She also worked in nursing homes and for Child Health Services in Helena. During the spring Daphne could be found helping local ranchers take their cattle up to the Blue Bird and in the fall bringing them home again. She loved to fish and camp and loved her family above all.
Survivors include her daughters; Lorna Campbell of East Helena and Pete Hanna of Clancy, grandsons; Kelly (Pam), Kip (Robin), Kerry, and Kory (Tara); ten great grandchildren Ami, Brandi (Keith), Levi (Ellen), Ashley, Kayla (Zach), Kelsey, Beau, Abbi, Kara and Josh; four great-great grandchildren Carter, Isabelle, Presley and Kaine.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Haab, their infant daughter Daphne Lorraine, grandson Kim, and sons-in-law Bud Campbell and Bus Hanna.
The family would like to thank the kind, loving people who gave Daphne the greatest of care at Elkhorn Health and Rehab. We would also like to thank Jamie VanHorsen, Dr. Dodge and Rocky Mountain Hospice.
Cremation has taken place. At her request there will be no memorial services.

Jane Piilola says
Daphne was such fun to work with; she had such a kind heart and a great sense of humor. My folks talked often also of the good times with Bill and Daphne. Clancy won’t be the same without her. Jane Wendel Piilola
