In Memory Of

Darryl Willis

May 15, 1939 – April 16, 2012

Darryl K Willis, 72 died with his family around him on April 16, 2012._x000D_
Darryl was born on May 15, 1939 in California to Roscoe and Nora Willis. After his childhood, he attended the University of California, Berkeley, until being hired by IBM prior to graduation. It was there he met his beloved wife of 45 years, Lee Morgan. Together they decided to start their family in Helena, where he spent the remainder of his life._x000D_
Those that knew Darryl loved him for his sensitivity, intelligence, sense of humor, smile, and super positive attitude. He humbly acknowledged mistakes, lived his life with dignity, and never said an unkind word about anyone._x000D_
Darryl loved the creation around him, and enjoyed it with his family, whether playing golf, skiing, landscaping, or anything active. He loved to learn, and had strong faith in the promise outlined in the Bible, “he [God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning, nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Rev.21:4)_x000D_
Darryl is survived by his wife Lee, of Helena; his daughter Darra (& Cordell) of Florence, MT; son Brandon (& Anna) of Littleton, CO; and is dog Lily.

I had the pleasure and joy of knowing Darryl through my work. He was always a kind considerate person. Darryl, rest in peace my good man. God’s rewards are yours. To the family: thank you for sharing such a kind and loving man with the world.

i remember Darryl so well from the great service he provided for my Selectrics so many years ago, and how pleasant he always was on those service calls. Although I didn’t know Darryl on a personal basis, I am confident that he was a tremendous asset to IBM–I know he always got my machines running happily, and did it with a smile.

    My condolences to Darryl’s family.

Lee and family — I have such fond memories of Darryl in the 60’s with IBM. He taught me to practically fix a copier by myself and later when he sold typewriters, etc., I’d give him a hard time and he’d send new salesmen to me to see if they could “pass the test.” I am so sorry for your loss. May your good memories sustain you. Blessings.

Please accept my sympathy at this sad time. My early memories of Darryl are the many times we played basketball together over noon hour at the YMCA. He was a fierce competitor and a skilled basketball player and we had a great time playing both with and against each other.

Our families were also interwoven through the number of years that Lee worked for us at Montana Eyecare. Lee, you were terrific employee and a most valuable asset to our office.

It is my prayer that you will receive comfort from our Lord during these days and weeks ahead as you step into this next chapter of your life with Darryl gone.

Darra & family — I was so sorry to read about Darryl. When I was at Blue Cross & he was at IBM, I always enjoyed working with him to find solutions to our technology needs. He was a kind man, quick to laughter, and always followed through when he said he was going to do something. I feel privileged to have known him. My thoughts & prayers are with you all.

I worked with Daryll in the 70’s before transferring to IBM in Oregon. I was the parts specialist for copiers & Selectric typewriters. He was a great guy to work with.
