Dorothy Hartzell

July 5, 1946 – January 21, 2014

Dorothy B. Hartzell, 67, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, into eternal rest.
She was born May 07, 1946, to Alva and Catherine Cooper. She grew up in Manhattan , Montana and moved to Helena , Montana .
Dorothy married David H. Svaleson in Helena , 1962.  Together they had 3 sons, Eddy, David and Jon. She spent her career as cook, eventually becoming a chef!  She married Timothy Hartzell June 12, 2001, in Muskegon Michigan , moved back to Helena in 2003 and enjoyed many happy years together.
Her interests were family, gardening, cooking, reading and attended the Canyon Ferry Road Baptist Church .
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, David Svaleson and Jon Svaleson (Stacy), both of Helena, her daughter, Ashley Svaleson-Smith of Helena ; sisters; Karen, Corinne, Alice and Linda; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tim, and her son Eddy.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. January. 25, at the Canyon Ferry Baptist Church , 3384 Canyon Ferry Road , East Helena , MT 59635 . A light lunch reception at the church will follow.  The burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 1:30 p.m..

    I am very sorry for your loss. One encouraging thought you might find comforting in this difficult time is found at John 5:28, 29. “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” God gives us the hope that he will soon resurrect our dead loved ones and we can see them again. Won’t that be wonderful! I hope that comforts you as it does me.
