On the evening of June 9, 2016 Edward R. Guy, (also known as Ed or “Eddy”) passed away at St. Peter’s hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was seventy-six years old. Edward was born on December 31, 1940 in Fort Benton. He was the first child of Robert Guy and Alma Fisher.
Early in his life the family moved to Harden, Montana. Edward attended school and met his future wife, Ruth C. Scott there. Edward then moved to Bozeman to attend college at Montana State University where he studied business. After completing college, he married his old sweet heart Ruth and moved to Helena, Montana in 1968. He started work there at the Department of Fish Wildlife and Parks as a budget analyst retiring in 1998. Always the family man he helped to raise twin boys.
During his life Edward enjoyed lots of various hobbies including reading, woodworking and collecting books, tools and assorted antiques. He also enjoyed traveling, shopping at book and antique stores, and conversing with the people he met. His light-hearted nature lifted the spirits of those around him and he will be greatly missed.

Far too many good memories to share on a single web page! I spent so much time at the Guy’s house, growing up with Chris and Steven: Ed’s happy, fun, and positive spirit was a constant staple of my childhood. I was lucky to have friends with such a great Dad. Ed, you will be greatly missed!

Our condolences to Ruth, Steven and Christopher. We are neighbors, and for the past nine years we have enjoyed bantering with Ed whenever we saw him in the front yard. He was so funny; he always made us laugh. We will really miss him.
