Fred Simpson, Jr, age 88 of Helena, MT passed away of COPD on October 28 at 7:30am at home, comforted by his wife Jean.
Fred was born in Pueblo, CO on March 10, 1927 to Fred and Jean (Terlip) Simpson. He attended grade school and high school in Pueblo then served in the Army during World War II. Upon his return to Colorado he took several college courses.
Fred had a thirty year career with the C F & L Steel Mill in Pueblo, CO prior to returning as a supervisor in 1976.
Fred led a very active sports life. He was an amateur boxer and later enjoyed golfing, tennis, bowling, weight lifting, hunting, fishing, boating, motorcycling and shooting at the range.
Fred married Isabel De Fiore in 1951 and had one daughter, Vicki. They divorced in 1971. Fred married Jean (Clingerman) in 1972 and after stated that was the best decision he had made. Fred and Jean lived in Colorado, Hawaii, and Arizona before moving back to Montana.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents and two younger brothers, James and Richard Simpson.
Fred is survived by Jean, his wife of 43 ½ years and his daughter from his first marriage, Vicki (Harry) Rossi, two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

At Fred’s request no memorial services will be held.
