Brian & Belinda Christensen says
George was always a lot of fun, loved his kid stomping boots, and playing ping pong with him. There was one time we came over for Thanksgiving and there were several inches of snow. Our car could not make it all the way up the hill, so George walked down the hill, told all of us to stay in the car, and with dad driving, George pushed us up Roberts street to your house. Neither he nor the car slipped and he made it look so easy. George was the hero for the day.
Mom also wanted to tell you one of her memories. Mom and dad had just been married and were one their way from Texas to Montana. They had stopped in Cheyenne to visit George and Virginia and they all decided to go on a picnic. When they got to the park, it was raining. But George, always ready for everything, built a fire right outside the car door, prepped the sticks he had brought with them, and they roasted hot dogs and marshmallows holding their sticks out the car windows. They all had a lot of fun and laughs.
George was a wonderful, talented, and kind man and it has been a privilege to know him. Brian says that he thinks of George as a remarkable individual who is an inspiration to him. He cherishes his memories of George.

To Virginia and family,
George was the Assistant Fisheries Division Administator when I started as a fisheries biologist in 1969. He was a wealth of knowledge and always provided sound guidance. He was honest and honorable. With George and Art Whitney at the helmet you always knew you had their support. He was a true gentleman. I’m just glad we didn’t know the family nickname.
