Irene Janice Amaral, age 69, of Helena Montana passed away on February 1, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Irene was born on July 11, 1954, to Albert Milton and Marian Gladys Brown in Tachikawa, Japan. In 1972, Irene married Trenton Taylor. Together they had two daughters, Toshua, and Carrie. They later divorced. In 1977, Irene married Larry Amaral and together they shared two children, Walter, and Cathy.
Irene was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, which was her #1 job. She spent the majority of her career in customer service. This showed in many ways. Irene was always the first one to volunteer to help her family and friends when they were in need, whether it was taking them to appointments, helping them with shopping, or just lending an ear. She always wanted to help someone if she could. Heaven has gained an angel that we are sure will continue to give.
Irene was known as the “Woman behind the camera”. For a love of photography, she was always the one who was taking the pictures rather than being in them. For Irene, family was most important. Some of her favorite pastimes were crafting, quilting, and doing craft shows with her daughter. She never missed a chance to travel to her granddaughter’s and grandson’s sporting events. Her real excitement came when she got to go on the annual family camping trip, family trips to anywhere, trips to see her brother, and of course, trips to the ocean.
Irene was preceded in death by parents Albert and Marian Brown, brother’s baby Brown, Christopher Brown, and Paul Brown. She is survived by her brother Steve (Valerie) Brown, daughters Toshua (Ken) Krushensky, Carrie (Todd) Stenhjem, Cathy (Peter) Schaub, son Walter Amaral, grandchildren Stuart (Erin) Demko, Austin (Maddie) Stenhjem, Trenton Krushensky, Shelby Stenhjem, Jared Masterman, Arik Hoveland, great grandchild Felix Demko, Nephew Eric Brown, and Niece Pamela Brown.
Irene’s Celebration of life will be held at the East Helena VFW (downstairs) on 117 W Main Street, East Helena MT 59635 on Saturday February 10, 2024, at 2pm.
