With heavy hearts, our precious first-born son, Jacob Daniel Garza, 24, unexpectedly left his sojourn on earth on May 12, 2022. He was born to Daniel and Angela (Francom) Garza in Sandy, Utah, on December 26th, 1997. He was our greatest Christmas gift. Jacob went to Olympus High School and studied at Utah State University in Computer Science and Philosophy.
Jacob loved and was committed to learning all things and was highly intelligent. He enjoyed hiking and nature, reading, music, art, board games, and all things techy. He taught himself how to program at the age of 13. He desired to spend valuable time with people and wanted to know who they were. Jacob always listened and believed in the principle to “seek to understand before being understood”. He loved teaching others, especially his three younger siblings (and parents), and taught with patience and love. He had strength and confidence in his abilities. From a very young age, everyone was impressed by him and gave compliments on his demeanor and composure. He was the most kindhearted, thoughtful, and caring boy and would share everything he had with anyone who needed it. He was a loving brother and son. He loved his “family of friends” and spent most of his time with them. He will be missed every day.
He is survived by his parents, siblings: Gabriel, Isabelle, and Emma, maternal great-grandmother, Genevieve Francom, His Grandparents, Kathryn Engemann, Myron and Beverly Francom, and Esteban and Barb Garza, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a family of friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. in the Wilford Stake Center (Kenwood bldg.) 3175 S. Kenwood St, S.L.C, UT 84106. Family may arrive 30 minutes earlier for prayer.

I’m incredibly lucky to be a part of that “family of friends” Jacob was involved in. I’m incredibly lucky to have been a friend of, and to have gotten to know Jacob. We all think of him often. I’m coming here to say this, because he truly was, and is, one of the best, brightest, and kindest souls I ever had the opportunity to encounter. I think of you often, brother, we all do. I know you’re unraveling every mystery of the universe that we all pondered together. Love you, you’re with us always.
