Jean (Mary Jane) Robertson Larson, 90 years-old, peacefully passed away on November 12, 2015 at Aspen Gardens Assisted Living, Helena, Montana, while under hospice care and surrounded by the love and prayers of family and friends.
Jean was born on June 15, 1925, in Three Forks, Montana, to Reuben and Edith Robertson. Jean was the youngest child, having an older brother, James Robertson. The family lived in Three Forks for six months before moving to Livingston, where she lived until August 2015.
After graduating from Park County High School, she was employed as a legal secretary until she met and married Leonard H. Larson. Jean and Leonard were married for 49 years until Leonard’s passing in 1989. The couple raised two sons, Donald and Rob, and two daughters, Linnea and Kris.
Jean possessed a contagious smile, an entertaining sense of humor, and a zest for living. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many who were forever changed by her constant nurturing love and faith. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed keeping up on the local news and gave her time to help those in the church and community.
Jean is survived by her sons Donald and Rob Larson (Kim Uhrich Larson) and daughter Kris Larson (Tom Golnar). Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Edith; her brother, James; her husband, Leonard; and her daughter, Linnea.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms from too many people to name individually, including the staff of Frontier Home Health and Hospice and the caring, attentive team at Aspen Gardens.
A celebration of life will be held in Spring 2016 in Livingston, with internment at Mountain View Memorial. You may express your condolences online at www.helenafunerals.com (or by mail to: The Larson Family, 612 Oxford Drive, Bozeman, MT 59715)

What a special woman- Jeanie has been like a second mother to me! I count myself blessed to have grown up next to her since I was 6- enjoying her warmth, that special smile, her sweet spirit & love! I’m happy for her that this last difficult struggle is over for her. I’m looking right now at a picture of Jeanie (she was always & forever Jeanie to me) & Len at Glacier Park when we did a family trip together. Always that smile- I’ll carry it in my heart forever!!!!

Rob, Don, and Kris,
Your mom was truly one of the most positive, bright, caring people I have had the pleasure to know in my life. Her goodness of spirit will always be with me and I am a better person because of that. I was sad to hear of her passing, but I am happy for the good life she lead on Big Horn Drive. My thoughts are with you all.

I think what I will remember best about Jean was her wonderful, melodious laugh. It charmed me every time I heard it. She was kind and attentive. a good neighbor, and the whole damned street loved her right back. She had many caring friends who checked on her and assisted her when necessary. We will all miss her and that fabulous lauigh.

Kris and Family,
As a kid I spent a lot of time at your house playing with you, Kris; and Pokey, Shorty, and the guinea pig. I don’t remember a single time your good Mom ever being fed up with us, or shooing us off – the woman had the patience of a saint! And there has never been a time, in all these years since, that your Mom didn’t stop and chat a minute any time I ran into her in our little town. We are all so much richer for having known her.
My condolences at this sad time, and know I will keep you all in my prayers.
God Bless,
Teresa O’Connor
