Jeffrey Paul Conway, better known to family and friends as Paul, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
Paul was born to Jeff and Theresa Conway on December 30, 1977 in Butte Montana. Growing up, Paul enjoyed motorcross and riding trails and roads with his older brother Kris, skiing, and hunting. He loved being on the water in the warmer months and fishing. Paul was very close to his dad and loved his mother.
On September 9, 2023, Paul married his best friend of 22 years, Tessa Hajek. They were surrounded by family and friends next to the lake and mountains where he loved to be most. With Tessa, came Grandma Cleo, and he loved her like his own, making sure she stayed active and healthy. Paul will always be remembered for his fierce love for those close to him, his kindness, and his honesty. He had a very matter-of-fact attitude and called it like he saw it.
Paul loved his family with all his heart. He would do anything and everything for those he loved. Paul was so, so proud of his only son, Jacob, who is currently stationed in Sasebo Japan with the United States Navy.
Paul is survived by his Wife, Tessa; Son, Jacob; Parents Jeff and Theresa; Brother, Kris (Wilma); Uncles Jay, Steve, Tim; Aunts Jan, Ginger, Char, Grace, Anna, and Kelly; grandparents Madylyn and John. He is also survived by Tessa’s sisters Shelby (Trevor); Brooke (Justin); Amanda (Cody), mother-in-law, Lori; Grandma Cleo; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Paul is preceded in death by his grandparents Yolanda Johnson, Ellen Conway, Richard Mercer; Uncles Jack and Jim Conway, and John Ballard, as well as father-in-law Dale Hajek.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Boulder Montana, on Saturday May 4, from 12pm to 5pm. Montana City’s Hardware Café will cater. Bring stories and memories to share, and please feel free to wear shades of blue, Paul’s favorite color.

Im at a loss for words. I can’t even begin to explain how sorry I am for the loss of Paul. My family and I loved him and will miss him greatly. He held my heart for a short time and when I got it back there was an imprint left. I was never happier when I’d heard about him getting married again, and to someone who he cared so much for.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Paul a couple years ago, in White Sulphur Springs. I always enjoyed our conversations whether first thing in the morning or in the afternoon. He truly always was a joy to chat with. He will be greatly missed!

I went to grade school with John aka JP we went to Greeley together we went to East Junior high together. I was really surprised to see his obituary today in the paper. I pray that his family and all of his friends received the Lord Jesus Christ during this very difficult time. JP was one of my friends, I enjoyed playing marbles and King of the Hill at Greeley School. Although I lost contact with him I will always consider him a very good friend and I am grateful that I was fortunate enough to know him.
