Jo Anne Cordell
July 18th, 1950 – April 27th, 2025
Jodi was born to her mother Wanda Hurt on July 18th, 1950 in Modesto, CA and passed away surrounded by family on April 27th, 2025. Her daughter and all of her grandchildren surrounded her as she passed on.
Jodi was loved by so many people within her family and friends and even throughout the community. She had so much love in her heart for every person that crossed her path. She loved crocheting baby blankets for every person who was having a baby or grandbaby it kept her busy and she just loved being able to do things for everyone. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great grandchildren were her whole world. She loved and cared for every generation of her family with the same passion and adoration as the one before. Her life always had purpose.
Every one had a grandma with her. She loved all the friends of her daughters and granddaughters as if they were her own. There’s never been a woman with more love and strength than her. Her grandbabies may as well have been hers. She would steal all the babies while us moms slept. She lived to be a mother and grandmother and loved every moment with her family. Everyday with Jodi was a special one. Game nights, camping, fishing and tubing on the boat were some of her most favorite times with her family.
Jodi found her relationship with god and started attending the Canyon Ferry Baptist church where she was baptized and adopted her church family. She was very passionate about attending all of her events with the church.
Jodi is survived by her daughters Tracy/ (Matt Salminen) Christina Cordell, Kori Dixon and Marlene Elledge. her grandchildren Briana Richard’s, Mandy Odell and mark odell. Great grandchildren Jenna, Mya and Jayden Odell. Great great grandchildren Brystol and Martha Billman. Sisters Gail Paige, Brenda kremer and Lynn fisher as well as numerous nieces and nephews and too many friends to name.
Jodi is proceeded in death by her mother Wanda Hert, her father Robert Hert, brother Bobbi Hert, Sister Anne Ledbetter.
Services will be held at the Canyon Ferry Baptist Church on Thursday May 1st at 11am.
A potluck Celebration of life will be held on Friday May 2nd in the basement of the VFW in East Helena at 3pm.
