I have so many wonderful memories of Opa but some of my fondest would be playing cards with Oma and Opa and listening to them tease each other! Oh the laughs. Opa also loved hunting deer and elk I will miss running into him with Lorien and her kids in the mountains! Opa you will be missed.

We are so sorry to hear about your loss and surprised to find potential family member’s living here in Helena too. I am married to Beth Luckenbaugh and her family and I are from Hogestown, Penna area, actually I was born in Mechanicsburg PA.. My wife’s father is from Perry County, Penna (Chester Luckenbaugh) and we believe that Mary was the sister of Paris Luckenbaugh my wife’s grand father and Chester’s aunt? . That makes Mary a great aunt to my wife, Beth.
If you would like to talk with us sometime about the possible family connection you are more than welcome to call us, Dave and Beth (Luckenbaugh) McCann 442-8168. We both graduated from Cumberland Valley High School, class of 1968. We live here in Treasure State Acres and are both retired now.

What a wonderful person. I have fond memories of a Christmas party at my home John and Inge attended. I am so glad to have visited him at home just a couple weeks ago. My heartfelt sympathy, Inge and family! Gilda Clancy (Inge and Cyndi’ Forbes’ shooting pal).

My tribute to Opa Traub.
Never do I remember a time when I seen Opa that he didn’t greet me with a smile and a firm handshake. I remember how he liked to tease in a way that some may not recognize but I could see it. He never done it in meanness but just to be funny. I always enjoyed the few times I got to spend with him and Lorien going out to hunt. He always made sure he had a few snacks and hot coffee and was happy to take care of those that were with him. I haven’t known Opa for a long time but I do know the sacrifices he made for Lorien and myself. He work hard and long hours helping to establish our home while I had to go to work at a new job. He met some of my neighbors and any that I talked to would say nothing but good things and how he was such a nice man. I am still today honored to be his son-in-law i am thankful I was blessed to get to know him. I will miss him very much and am also thankful that I was granted the opportunity to share a part if his life. Peace be with you Opa, rest in peace!

I read with sadness of the loss of John. My heart goes out to you over your loss. May God grant you comfort and peace during this difficult time. Galatians 1:3. Never forget that you can lean on your Heavenly Father for support. He is a comforter of all those who mourn. In His Word the Bible, He tells us to throw all our anxiety upon Him, because He cares for us, 1Peter 5:7. Isaiah 41:10. He also tells us of a brighter future when our loved ones will awake from their restful sleep to enjoy life in paradise. John 11:11; John 6:40; Revelation 21:3, 4. Many are finding solace in this promise. I pray that you will also. Heartfelt prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathies. Mrs. Traub, I do not know you or your family but I felt compelled to read this obituary yesterday. My mother was born in Hof Germany and was a war bride. She passed away a few years ago, but I have many fond memories of Hof, Germany and all my mothers family “the Peetz” still live there. Its a small world when someone from my mom’s hometown Hof lives here in Helena. Again, my deepest sympathies.

Rest in peace

I am John’s daughter. And was born in Hof. It’s been amazing to me how many people are here, in Helena, from Hof. A greater plan by our Creator is no ‘accident’ or ‘coincidence’.
