In loving memory of John Howard Bosshard Sr. (Big John) who passed away in his home with family on December 10th, 2024. He was 77 years old.
John was born in Milwaukee, WI to Alice Nyman and John Bosshard. He is survived by Linda Vogel-Martin (sister), Gary Bosshard (brother), Richard Bosshard (brother), John Bosshard JR. (son), RaeAnn Bosshard (granddaughter), Preston Bosshard (grandson).
He grew up in and around Hartland, WI with his best friend Dennis Martins (Butch). John attended Lakeside elementary, a one room schoolhouse in Delafield. After graduating from Arrowhead High School, he completed a two-year degree in wildlife conservation at the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point.
John served in the Army Reserves from Feb-1968 until Feb-1974 with 14 months spent in the Vietnam War. In the middle of serving he married Colleen Sanders on July 3rd, 1971. They were together until her passing in July 3rd, 2019, which was the most heartbreaking time he had ever gone through. He had two sons Jeff (deceased August 13th, 2011) and John Jr.
After moving to Montana in 1976 he worked construction for several years until he and Colleen started Bosshard & Sons. John was known as the best siding installer in the state. His slogan “Compare our Quality Installation it’s a Beautiful Difference”. He continued that business until retiring after making many Montana customers happy. John absolutely loved the outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, especially with RaeAnn(buddy-girl) and Preston, along with many other hobbies. He was also a huge Green Bay Packers fan he had a small room dedicated to memorabilia down to the light switch cover.
John was a hardworking, patient man that was a second dad to several kids. His sarcastic sense of humor and love for nature will be missed.

It has been many years since I have heard John laugh. I can still remember it clearly though. He did it often and it was sometime explosive and loud. He was always kind and loved big. I am so sorry for your huge loss.
