Amber – Don and I were shocked to hear of your Dad’s death. We’d seen that he’d signed up for Migratory Bird Day and had said, “great — we’ll get a chance to see Jack and find out what he’s been up to.”
Jack was a truly good guy — we certainly enjoyed his presence at the Wildlife Center. He was always pretty upbeat, always ready to help wherever he could, willing to do a lot of the fix-up clean-up stuff that gets very little recognition but is vital to a place running well.
Some of our most vivid memories are of the Cardboard Boat Regatta — how proud he was of his creation, and more proud of his grandchildren!
We imagine you’re hearing a lot of “call us if we can help” remarks, but we really mean it — if something comes up that you were counting on your Dad for, and we can help in any way, please let us know.
We’d heard that you might be coming back to the Wildlife Center — hope that it’s true and that we get to see you sometime soon.
Our thoughts are with you and your family.
