John Scott Burt, 61, of Helena, MT left us unexpectedly on April 24, 2023.
Scott was born on August 13, 1961 in Portland, OR. Scott eventually moved to Montana where he attended Capital High School. He fell in love with Montana and always felt so lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
Scott will be missed so much by family and friends. He was always there to lend a hand when you needed it. He always knew how to make us laugh and always knew the right thing to say when we were struggling. Scott left no doubt that his family was the most important thing in his life.
We will miss his smile, his advice, his unique sense of humor and most of all his whole hearted love. There was truly no one else like Scott. He loved motorcycles so much he built one piece by piece. Not seeing or hearing him cruise around town will leave a hole in our hearts.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Jack Burt and his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Burt, daughters Tanya Burt and Jennifer Burt, grandsons Ronin and River, mother Carlene Hoey.

I remember Scott from the General Merc. I will miss his stories, his humor, and his passion, and that loud bike he made.

Our house is right next to Scott’s storage shed. I’d hear the tickticktick blahdubba… tickticktick blahdubbabloowwwwww when he’d kick his bike over and it made me smile. He helped me put the roof on my shed and wrench on my bike, even housed it for a week in his garage. When I’d get back from a trip he was the first person to stop by and wanted to know everything.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

John was my neighbor and he was always had a smile and a kind word when we crossed paths. One didn’t have to be his best friend or family to feel his kindness and know he was a good person. I’m sorry he passed away. God Bless.

Words can’t describe what this family is possibly feeling or going through right now, I want to offer my deepest condolences to the Burt family. I’ve known them for a very long time and am good friends with one of the daughters and I wish there was something I could do not only for her but for the wrest of the family , it’s not easy loosing a loved one. let alone a parent!!!
I wish you all well and hold you all dearest to my heart.
Take care and I am here if anybody needs anything.

We were roommates for a while after High School. He was good with a wrench and helped me rebuild my ’65 El Camino with a 283 small block and 3/4 racing cam. I can still hear that cars idle in my mind. Nearly every time it hit second gear, it would chirp the tires. I drove it to Key West while pursuing my dive career. Party On Skinny ! Best to Kathy and Family
