Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, and Friend
February 6, 1947 – January 6, 2025
Julie Margaret Krause, 77, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Her resilience, grace, and unwavering spirit through life’s challenges remain an inspiration to all who knew her.
Growing up in Ennis, Montana, Julie (Erdie) met the love of her life (George Krause) in Dillon, Montana when they were both just kids. They married soon after meeting and celebrated their 61st anniversary in February 2024.
Julie dedicated herself to her loved ones, forging a legacy of kindness, strength, and selflessness. She touched thousands of lives with her warm welcomes and smiles while working in her high-visibility jobs.
Julie loved being together with friends and family whether on the lake fishing, in a campground, or at the gym watching her grandkids and great-grandkids. Her laughter, wisdom, and nurturing spirit made her a cherished confidant and a trusted friend to many.
Above all, Julie’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband Tink (George) Krause, children, Tammy Durkin (husband Mike), and Tom Krause (wife Chrissy); her beloved grandchildren, Shane (wife Annie), Dustin, Sophia, and Sierra; her great-grandchildren Joshua and Noah; and her brother, Tom Erdie (wife Irene). She was preceded in death by her brother Jay Erdie and her parents, Clorinda and Julius Erdie.
Julie’s legacy of love and compassion will continue to live in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her. Her family would like to express their gratitude to the Hospice caregivers from Headwaters Hospice who supported Julie with exceptional care and compassion throughout her journey.

Robert Ricker says
Deepest condolences to Tink and the family at this sad time. Julie had a smile for everyone she met. She was always a hoot and brought out the laughter with her co-workers during the years she worked at the City of Helena. I had the pleasure of working with her during most of those years and enjoyed her professionalism and pleasant personality. She will be missed by all those who knew her.
