On the afternoon of July 30th Karen passed away peacefully with family surrounding after a 13-year battle with cancer.
Karen was born to Barbara and Lawrence Lamping on May 9, 1951. She grew up in East Helena and married James Churchill in August 7th of 76. Karen and Jim had two children Kelly and Jamie. Karen was dedicated to her family and worked hard to provide for them.
Karen was a tomboy growing up, playing softball for First National bank where she worked. She was always a jokester, quick to laughter even through the hardest days. She was rooted in family traditions, either enjoying a day at the family cabin or bringing her famous cauliflower salad to holiday gatherings. Karen loved her family deeply.
The family would like to give a special thank you St. Peters Hospital Cancer Treatment center and all the nurses that took care of her over the years.
Preceded in death by her husband Jim.
Karen is survived by her children Kelly (Emily) and Jamie (Scot). Parents Barb and Larry Lamping. Sibling Terry (Sylvia) Lamping, niece and nephew Terra and Tony (Kristen) Lamping – Sydney, Tucker and Jordan. Grandchildren Cory and Jennifer Pentecost and Brooklyn Howell. All the Lamping family and the Churchill brothers in law and longtime friend Richard MacDonald.
