My heartfelt sympathy to Hazel, Gary, Doug and their families for the passing of Ken–though in many ways, his well-deserved ascendance to heaven merits celebration.
Ken lived a long, very special life. He was a kind, soft-spoken man of faith who cared about all of us around him, always smiling and laughing, finding humor and happiness in everything, helping out in whatever way possible. I first met him in the early 1950s in Glendive, Montana, where he was the Scoutmaster of my Boy Scout Troop. In many ways he was both father and friend to we young boys, teaching us to catch trout and cook them over campfires, camp in the cold and snow, master archery, and get along with each other on camporees, including such adventures as hikes to the top of Mt. Sacajawea north of Bozeman. We all had fun together in everything we did back then. Later, when I took an interest in electronics, on his own time Ken taught me Morse code and enough basics to get my ham license–opening my eyes to whole new worlds and possibilities. He was very generous with both his time and his prized possessions.
I was very fortunate to achieve a lifelong ambition and reconnect with him three years ago, visiting Hazel and Ken at their Rio Rancho home and happily swapping memories. I will treasure the many fun and educational times we shared together always.

Millie Sullivan says
Ken and Hazel were our very dear friends in Glendive where both Ken and my husband, Tom Sullivan worked for Mountain Bell Telephone. We had lost track of them and were sad to learn of Ken’s passing and that we are close neighbors again and did not know it. We would like to reconnect with Hazel since we live near East Helena in Mountain View Meadows sub-division. Our phone number is: 266-4918. Tom and Millie Sullivan.
