Linnea Louise Vasecka went on her final adventure December 20, 2023, when she passed away from cancer in Clancy, Montana surrounded by her loved ones.
Linni was born February 23, 1959 in Gettysburg, South Dakota to Edward Vasecka, Jr. and Janis Munsterman. She spent her young life living adventures on Air Force radar squadrons in Spain, North Dakota, Oregon and Montana. Her father finally retired in the mid 1970’s in Havre. But Linnea was not content to retire with him, she wanted more adventures and left after high school for Helena, Billings, and finally Seattle where she met David Kelso. They married in 1987 in West Glacier, Montana and then continued having adventures of their own in other states. Their son Bradley was born March 15th 1990 in Everett, Washington and their second son Shaun was born January 13th 1994 also in Everett. Shortly after Shaun was born they moved to New Hampshire, then to Kansas in 1996, Great Falls in 1999, West Virginia in 2002 and finally settled in Butte in 2004. There she worked for the Motherlode Theater. David passed away in 2008 and after the boys graduated from high school Linnea moved to West Glacier, where she worked at her favorite job in the Conservancy. In 2018 she moved to Missoula and enjoyed many activities such as volunteering at the Senior Center and dancing with the Folk Lore Society. She was very creative and enjoyed working with her hands as a seamstress and masseuse. She was also gifted in origami and continued the family tradition of making Swedish paper stars.
She is preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and sister Vicki Vasecka Kulbeck.
She is survived by her two sons; Brad and his wife Joy of Helena, Shaun and his wife Moriah, her three grandchildren; Kolter, Addilyn and Khloe Kelso of Butte, her oldest sister Terri Vasecka Atwood of Clancy and her brother Scott Vasecka of Havre.
There will be no service. Her ashes will be spread by the family at her favorite place in Montana, Lost Creek. Her smile and blue eyes will be remembered. Go in peace little sister.
