Aunt Lois was like a grandmother to me! I loved spending time with her from fishing to watching GRIZ games in Missoula! She was glamours and elegant one minute and the next she would be digging in the dirt with us looking for garnets. After uncle Wayne died she asked me to go a Griz game and slumber party in Missoula! She made things fun-and I wish I could have one more slumber party in Missoula with her! I love and already miss her telling me we can’t talk long because it is long distance!

We are sorry Lois is no longer with us here, but we know she is with a whole lot of people that she loved dearly. Wayne Eveland, Lois’ second spouse, was best friends with our father, Dan Kelly, and their good friend, Jack Carver, who all grew up in Butte together. When Wayne married Lois, she became a member of the group and quickly showed us all what a wonderful presence she would be in Wayne’s life. She was a gracious hostess, kind and attentive, a wonderful cook, and had an amazing way with animals, especially the little song birds that would flit on and off the Eveland deck overlooking Canyon Ferry. She had a wicked sense of humor, and told marvelous stories. She became Wayne’s partner and helped honor his past piloting days prior to, and through World War II. She and Wayne’s daughter Nicki, encouraged him to write the memoirs of his experiences, and Nicki edited, and saw to it that it was published. Lois enjoyed traveling with him to various meet ups of his old pilot and war acquaintances, along with U of M events. Together, they made a great team. We will miss her. She is the last of the little group to leave us and we’re hoping they are all having a grand reunion. Love to you Lois!
