Lois Marie Durand of Belcourt, ND, 83, passed away at Mountain View Nursing Home, in Bozeman on May 27, 2016.
Lois was born in Belcourt, ND to Emil Bercier and Delphine Murray.
Lois was raised in Dunseith, ND where she was educated in public schools. There was a lot of work to be done at the family farm so Lois quit school to help out.
Lois then met and married John Bachmeier and moved to Minot, ND.
Lois and John then moved to Butte where John worked in the mines and Lois worked for Gamer’s Bakery.
Lois studied to be a paralegal and worked for Leonard Haxby – Lawyer.
Lois was an advocate for the low income community, senior citizens, and the Indian Alliance.
Lois volunteered at the senior citizen center. Lois had a special gift of helping those in need.
Lois loved and enjoyed being around family and friends. Lois also had a dog named Sam who she cherished and was a great companion to her.
Lois enjoyed fishing, traveling, and especially baking. She loved to bake during the holidays for her family and friends.
Later in life Lois moved to Deerlodge to be near her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Joe Mavrinac.
Lois then moved to Bozeman where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Greg Marshall. Then to Mountain View Nursing Home where she lived out the rest of her life.
Lois was preceded in death by Delphine Murray, John Bachmeier, Gerry Durand, Hassen Jr. Murray, AHMAD Warren Murray and Hassen Jr.
Lois is survived by Mike and Gloria Bachmeier of Helena, Joe and Diane Mavrinac of Deerlodge, Greg and Patty Marshall of Bozeman, Mike and Barbara Fox of Washington, Gary and Moray of Denver, William James and Carol Murray of Fargo, ND, Abraham Murray of Tacoma, WA, James and Ester Fleming of Flint, MI, Kenneth Murray of Sidney, Joe Murray of Sidney, Don and Joyce Anderson of Roy, WA, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
