As a Volunteer at Fort Harrison VA, Lois was my Mentor. She was the true definition of the word Volunteer. She was never too busy to help anyone with anything. Over my three years of being at the VA, I learned so much valuable information from Lois and I really can’t fathom not seeing her there with her smiling face. God Bless you Lois and thank you for all of your loving support.

Lois and I met shortly after the deaths of my daughter and her husband. Our mutual grief brought us together for a while as we shared memories of those we’d lost, with the understanding and acceptance that few could provide. During that time, she shared with me the her for volunteering at Fort Harrison. It became her life’s purpose to bring veterans whatever comfort she could through her service there. Hers will be big shoes to fill. My condolences and best wishes to her family.

My heart is heavy with sadness as I realize I will not be able to see or visit with Lois at the Fort again. But it is also filled with joy in knowing her and remembering what she has done for the Veterans and how she felt about them. How appropriate that she be laid to rest shortly after Veterans Day.
My first experience at the Fort 6 or 7 years ago as a volunteer driver from Great Falls for the DAV was meeting Lois. At that time she was in charge of travel. I quickly realized her compassion and love for our Veterans. She was driven to do what she could for the betterment of our Veterans.
We have lost a great lady too soon. She was loved . . . . and was loved. I will miss her and her hugs.
Prayers to all who mourn her loss.

I had such a wonderful time getting to know Lois on our cruise a couple of years ago – such a caring, genuine, classy lady. Will certainly miss her. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of her family and friends.
