Hello, may name is Beth. Marie and my mother, Karen Brown were good friends since their young adulthood. They kept in touch through the phone over the years. I have been here taking care of my mother for the last 13 and it was always a pleasure to talk to her.
Here is one of my mothers memories of Marie from their youth.
My mother, who was working as a nurse at the time, was sitting in a diner that was situated above White Sulfur. The county attorney and the sheriff were seated with her. Marie came bursting in and said loudly, “Karen! We have been racing up and down the road 90 miles and hour looking for you!” Fortunately the sheriff chose to ignore that statement.

I shared memories of our younger days with Marie. What made it fun was her hearty laugh. She brightened my day.
