Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, sister and friend. She was called home to the arms of our Lord on Tuesday, May 9th. Jane’s strong faith held her up through the many challenges her illness presented. Her incredible strength, stubbornness and sense of humor will be missed but is a legacy she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Her greatest gift was the gift of time. Although her time with us was cut short, she made the best of what she was given – laughing with us and creating loving memories we will be able to hold in our hearts. Her will and determination after her diagnosis allowed her to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary, the birth of two great grandchildren, the marriage of her grandson and the engagement of both of her granddaughters. Her joy in life was her family. She welcomed everyone with an open door, open heart, and a warm hug. Second to her family she loved spending time in the mountains either on horseback or on a drive looking for wildlife.
September 10th of 1947, Jane was born to Slim and Midge Bucy, the third of five girls. Her love of gardening was instilled at an early age helping in the family’s truck garden and beet fields. It provided some of her most precious memories. Whether it was hoeing to make her ‘grow’, sliding off the barn roof on a scoop shovel or almost catching the straw stack on fire sneaking a smoke, you never knew what mischief she and her sisters might be causing.
Her sister Linda introduced her to the love of her life…Allan. Allan and Jane were wed on August 6, 1966. In 50 years of marriage, they raised two daughters, Chris (Ted) Wall and Brenda (Braiden) Burns. They have four grandchildren, Tessa Damuth (Dewey Vogl), Erin Grove (Shawn Payne), Lane (Shelby) Grove and Connor Burns and four great grandchildren, Peyton and Kennedy Vogl, Hattie Payne and Rylee Grove. Jane’s priority was supporting us all – whether it be attending sporting events, a rodeo, a roping or a branding, she was cheering us on.
Jane’s sisters, Cathy (Monte) Armstrong, Linda Poe, Kim (Jeff) Koehnke and Tammy (Tim) Allen supported her with faith, friendship and laughter. In addition to her immediate family, Jane had an extensive extended family…be it a Bucy, a Weiferich or a Damuth, close or ‘shoe string’, or one of her many friends, she loved spending time with the people she loved.
