Michael Mitzkus, age 67 of Helena,Mt. previously of Miles City Mt. Passed away in the late evening of March 12th’ 2019, in the company of his wife, while being cared for by the very caring staff at the Elkhorn Rehabilitation Center and Compassus hospice nurse Jessica.
Mike was born on October 14th’ 1951 in Forsyth,Montana to Herman (Buck) and Luella Mitzkus. He grew up in Eastern Montana and enjoyed fishing,hiking and socializing with friends. He also worked with horse hair and leather, making and selling amazing things for several years. While in Helena he enjoyed spending time with his son Scott Deck going for drives in the hills, mountains and taking walks. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife and sister Kathy Simon. Mike loved his family very much, his children,grandchildren and his neices and nephews and many friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his father Herman and his mother Luella Mitzkus also his sister Sherry Dillon.
Michael is survived by his wife Nancy Mitzkus of Clancy Mt. and his loving sister Kathy Simon and her husband Barry Simon. He is also survived by his son Scott Deck of Helena Mt. and his daughter Mitzi Abbott and husband Joel Abbott of Miles City and his son Buck Brown and his wife Lisa.
He also has several grandchildren including Darla Harris,Teal Harris,Joseph Brown,Timber Abbott,Melissa Abbott and Anthony Brown,Cheyenne Stortz,Justin Brown,Sierra Brown. He also had great grandchildren Sophie Blanchard,Brinley,Kenna,June and Grayson.
Michael also had several nieces and nephews he loved very dearly Lee White and family,Jenny and family, Amy and family, Jamie and Jimmy and several friends .
He is loved and missed very much and will be kept close to the hearts of his family.
