Patricia “Pat” Carol (Anderson) Lundeen was born July 6, 1942, in Butte, Montana, to Merton and Grace Anderson. She had one brother, Mike Anderson, six years younger. She spent her childhood and formative years in Helena, Montana where she attended and graduated from Helena Senior High School. She had a love for music, playing clarinet in the school band, participating in the school play, and making close friendships some of which would last her entire lifetime.
After high school, Pat attended Carroll College in Helena, working multiple jobs to pay for her schooling and ultimately receiving a bachelors degree in social work from the University of Montana in Missoula. Even at that age, Pat had an amazing natural ability to talk to people and be very empathetic. Skills she would use throughout her life to reach and help people in need.
In the spring of 1965, Pat saw a man across a crowded room and told her friends, “That’s the guy I’m going to marry.” In September of that same year, she proved herself right marrying Lloyd “Deen” Lundeen and loving him unconditionally for the next 50 years.
Pat followed Deen as his career with the US Forest Service took them from Ennis MT, to Ogden UT, where she worked and went back to school to receive a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Utah. From Ogden they moved to San Francisco, CA where their two sons, Chris and Brian, were born.
Brian was born on her 33rd birthday, something she always treasured and tried to make a point of celebrating with him every year.
From California, Pat and her family moved to Colorado and then on to Washington DC where she spent the next twenty years working full time while raising her boys and taking care of her family.
After both of their sons had left “the nest”, Pat and Deen retired and moved to Manchester, WI, Deen’s childhood home. Here they became master gardeners turning the 3 acres around the house into beautiful flower gardens that many would come to see. They also delivered meals to the elderly for Green Lake County Hot Meals. Ever the social worker, Pat made it a point to sit and chat with each person on her route, further enriching their lives. She was loved by many and sorely missed when she quit her deliveries.
After Deens passing in 2013, Pat longed to return to her beloved Rocky Mountains and so in the summer of 2015, her sons helped her return to Helena, MT, where she would spend the rest of her life with childhood friends and family.
Pat’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran church in Helena, Mt. She became a member of the CLC Lutheran church soon after marrying Deen and they helped to start congregations in Loveland, CO and Fairfax, VA. Pat was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Markesan, WI for the last seventeen years.
Pat passed away the evening of Thursday May 26th, at St Peters hospital in Helena, MT. She was surrounded by family members and went peacefully after battling a respiratory illness for months prior.
She is survived by her two sons Chris and Brian , sister in law JoAnn Sanders, nephew Luke Anderson, nieces Jessica Barnett, Catlin Bickerstaff, Wendy King, Wanda Halley, and Sue Laybourn, and their families.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at 449 Latigo Lane in Helena, MT on Friday June 3 at 1PM. All cards and flowers may be sent to 8190 Quail Ct. Helena, MT 59602. All donations will be given to Faith Lutheran Church in Markesan, WI.

Barbara A. Remick says
Pat and her husband and their 2 boys lived close to our family for over 20 years until they retired and moved to Wisconsin. All through those years, we were close with our daughters growing up with their boys. We shared so many wonderful, happy times together as families. Even after they moved, Pat & I stayed in very close touch. She was my life-long friend (very few in a lifetime). She was everything good, wife, mother, sister, and friend. She remained optimistic and brave to the end. I am grateful to have shared all those years with her & her family. I know she is at peace at last.
