In Memory Of

Patsy Marie Anderson

May 18, 1952 – October 17, 2021

In the morning hours of October 17th, 2021, a beautiful angel joined her brothers and parents in heaven. Patsy Marie Anderson was born on May 18th, 1952 to Albert and Vera Burk in Whitefish, Montana joining her older brothers Steve and Stan. Her brother Stan was her best friend and protector most of her life.
Patsy was raised primarily in Olney, Montana surrounded by a large extended family. She loved spending time with all of her aunts, uncles and cousins and her favorite trips were all the way to Eureka to see them! She spent most of her time playing outdoors and finding stray animals to adopt and bring home, even skunks! It was in Olney that she met the love of her life when she was 14.
At the age of 18 she married the love of her life Ronald Dale Anderson on October 10, 1970. Her son Ron Jr (Andy) joined the happy couple a year later and a couple years after that they had a daughter Lena to round out the family of four. Patsy settled into the life of a mom and wife in Olney and loved having her favorite brother and his family in the same town. She was so happy to be home with her children and raising them was her greatest joy. She felt so lucky to be able to stay home that she always tried to help the other moms when she could. She was happiest when there were lots of kids around, so when her best friend Linda would bring her two children Michael and Michele for her to watch she was so excited. She loved being the neighborhood mom and loved all of the kids in Olney. She spent hours making homemade barbie doll clothes for her daughter and friends and was always the first to volunteer for any community or school event.
After the kids left home Patsy and Ron spent some time in California and then made a home in Chinook, Montana. Patsy enjoyed her time in Chinook and made many good friends there. She loved helping organizations with stray animals and always made sure all the stray cats in town had a warm place to sleep and plenty of food. Patsy and Ron moved to Helena in 2016 to be closer to her children, where she lived until her passing. In 2019 Patsy was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. She battled through strong chemo and surgery and of course came out the other side winning the battle. Her first great grandchild was born in March, and it brought her so much joy to spend time with Madison Rae.
Patsy loved to read and always pushed herself to learn, even if she didn’t need to. She loved working in the yard and no matter where she lived her yard was always the most beautiful you would ever see. Patsy loved to spend time with her dogs and cats, but mostly her husband, children, grandchildren and Madi. Patsy was one of the strongest, most selfless people this earth has ever had. She never once thought about herself and never cared if she was okay, as long as her family was happy, she was happy.
Patsy is preceded in death by her mother and father Albert and Vera Burk, brothers Steve and Stan Burk and step-grandson Trent Havron.
Patsy is survived by her husband of 51 years Ron Anderson, son Andy Anderson, daughter Lena (Ben) Havron, granddaughters Megan Havron and Charlie Havron and great granddaughter Madison Rae. She is also survived by her favorite aunt Norma Burk, nephews Ryan (Jenny) Burk and Eric (Laci) Burk, sister-in-law Roxanne Burk and numerous other family members that were extremely important to her.
The family is planning a celebration of life in the spring. Memorials can be made to any local animal rescue in her name.

I will always remember playing softball with you. You were the best 2nd basewoman I’d ever seen. When we first moved to Olney, you were pregnant with Lena and you were always in your yard working on your flowers. Just days after Lena was born, you were back out in your flowers. I am beyond sorry you are gone from the living earth but I know you are in eternal joy. You are an angel now. God bless.

Pasty was a wonderful friend and the sister that I didn’t have. We shared many good times together playing ball, bowling, skiing, raising our kids together. We went to all our kids sporting events and always ended up at Dairy Queen for coffee after the games. She rescued a cat and gave it to Michael, Michele and I. She even took it to the vet and had it nuetered before she brought to our house. She was always there for us and she will be missed. I know there is a bright star shinning in the sky just for her. We love her family & want them to know we are there for them.

Patsy was one of the most kind hearted, positive and stoic people I have ever known. She was a second mom to every kid that walked through her door. An inspiration to countless girls and young women to play softball and other sports. Always there to help out the others parents getting all us kids to and from school and sporting events. Taking care of so many of us making sure we all were fed, hydrated, had on sunscreen or whatever we needed. She cheered us on, coached us and stepped in to help out with anything and everything. She was the the heart and soul of countless get togethers, game nights, movie nights and sporting events. She was a second mother to my brother Michael and I and an amazing friend to our parents. We loved her and miss her.
