Her family has suggested donations be made in Peggy’s memory to Trailhead Christian Fellowship Church, 20 Trailhead Lane, Townsend, MT 59644
Peggy was born on January 8, 1932 to William Floyd Archer and Ella Viola Archer on an isolated farm near Teigen Montana. Peggy joined two brothers Deane and Victor and one sister Nell and later another sister Nancy completed the family.
Peggy was raised on the farm and helped out her parents, and later her family moved to Lewistown where she attended and graduated high school in 1949. She attended Eastern College for two years to become a first-grade teacher where her first teaching job brought her to Townsend MT.
There in Townsend, Peggy met and married Robert Kenney on June 14, 1953, in a ceremony held in Billings MT.
They made their home in Townsend and had 3 boys Gene, Rodger and Philip. She stopped teaching in the school setting when the boys were small and started a kindergarten class in their home so she could combine her teaching skills with stay-at-home mom.
Peggy’s passions were her family, gardening and canning, her family genealogy, her faith and singing in church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents William and Ella, and her brothers Victor and Deane and sister Nell.
Peggy is survived by her younger sister Nancy, her sons Gene (Kim) Kenney of Havre, MT, Rodger (Sara) Kenney of Deer Lodge, MT and Phillip (Sandi) Kenney of Pocatello, ID, and their families including 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her grandchildren are Jason Kenney of Kirkland WA, Amanda (Bill) Amen of Everett, WA, Cristopher (Libby) Kenney of Clancy, MT, Adrian Kenney of Deer Lodge, MT, Tyler Kenney of Deer Lodge, MT, Micah Kenney of Pocatello, ID, Jamie (Marc) McBryan of Windsor, CO, Sean (Megan) Peterson of Missoula, MT.
