Polly Elizabeth Snyder, 58, died April 29, 2014, at St. Peter’s Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
She was born on May 28, 1955, to Robert J. Elizabeth G. Snyder of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She attended Huron High School, received a nursing degree from Presentation College, a certification in massage therapy from Big Sky Somatic Institute and also attended Helena College of Technology. She held many different jobs in the health care field, both in South Dakota and Helena, her last job being a case manager for Aetna Health Insurance Co.
Polly married Jon Stulken in 1975 and was the mother of two children, Jocelyn and Aaron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Snyder; and brother Lee Snyder.
She is survived by her children, Jocelyn Stulken and Aaron Stulken (and special friend, Stephanie); grandchildren Kain, Delicia, Vivienne and Amelia; sister Virginia (David) Newquist of Aberdeen, South Dakota; and brother Jaime (Bonnie) Snyder of Sioux Falls.
Polly’s interests were boundless, from religion to science and everything in between. She explored everything with an insatiable hunger for knowledge. Polly was a healer, a spirit guide, a nurse, a massage therapist and, above all, a friend.
She practiced tai chi, qigong, reiki and a myriad of other healing disciplines. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking and collecting the Earth’s treasures, be it a special rock or a healing herb. She was a teacher to anyone who cared to learn. Polly was the consummate “cat lady” who loved her “fur babies” with heart and soul.
At Polly’s request, no service will be held. Memorials are suggested to the Lewis and Clark Humane Society. Condolences may be sent to 1321 Walnut St., Apt. 2, Helena, MT.
