Raymond “Ray” Dale James passed away unexpectedly at the age of 53 years on February 19, 2015 in East Helena where he resided.
Born to Jack James and Eileen Scott on December 2, 1961 in San Jose, California, he was their fifth child. As a small child the family moved to Oregon, raised in the Portland area including Forest Grove.
Ray met Candace Forman, they had a longtime relationship. A son was born from this relationship, Jordan Ray James of Portland, Oregon.
Raymond was a chief engineer and worked many jobs as a maintenance and handyman. At the time of his death, he worked at Days Inn in Helena as Chief Engineer. His favorite hobbies were working on cars, and listening to music, but not dancing. He enjoyed playing jokes on people. He had a nice smile, which brought out the best. He enjoyed fast speed while at the wheel of his favorite car.
Raymond is survived by his son Jordan Ray James, of Portland, Oregon; mother Eileen Scott of Helena; step-mother Carolyn James of Portland, Oregon; brothers: David Leroy James of Helena, Ronald Lee (Cathy) James of Great Falls, and Jeffrey Eric James of Great Falls; sisters: Pamela Sue (Scott Andresen) Trosper of East Helena, Paula Jean (Steve Lokkeberg) Dobson of Portland, Oregon, and Susan Leslie James of Choteau; step-brother and step-sister: Greg Martin and Sheryl Joseph of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren: Aspyn Rose James and Bandan Sage James both of Portland, Oregon. He is also survived by several cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, great nieces, and great nephews.
Raymond is preceded in death by grandparents Fred and Helen Myskewitz and Rueben and Quito James, Father Jack Q James who passed in 1994, Uncle Henry G Myskewitz who passed in 2014, and Aunt Virginia G Tintinger who passed in 2005.
