Robert “Bob” David Swanson, 66, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018. After a five-year battle with cancer. Bob was born December 12, 1951 in Helena to Harold and Peggy Swanson.
When he was 17 years old he dedicated his life to his Creator Jehovah God and then symbolized his life by being baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Three weeks before his death he celebrated his 43rd anniversary with his wife, Linda. Whom he married on May 10, 1975.
Bob’s first job was with Mergenthaler Transfer and Storage until he was in an accident that caused his back injury which he lived with for the rest of his life. So he had to change his occupation. Then worked for TOI Theatres which he managed in Helena, Billings, Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Leadville, Colorado. The job he loved the most was working with his nephew Robert up until the time he could no longer work.
Bob had faith in Jesus words in John 11:25 ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.’ We along with Bob look forward to the time when Isaiah 33:24 ‘and no resident will say: I am sick.’
The family would like to thank Dr Weiner and all his staff for taking care of Bob through all these years.
He is preceded in death by his father Harold Swanson and his mother Peggy (Tuckerman) Swanson. He is survived by his spouse Linda O’Leary Swanson, son Shiloh David; sisters Gretchen (Le Roy) Braun, Maureen (Dennis) Mills, brother Mike (Pat) Swanson and his nephew Robert (Hillary) Braun and their daughter Kiley.
A memorial service will take place at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Colonial Drive, June 16, 2018 at 3:00 pm. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.helenafunerals.com
